Contracts are available for 6, 12 and 18 months. Most contracts are for 18 months and you will be placed with a club. The club will determine the nature of coaching, and candidates must be able to deal with a variety of age and ability groups and have the necessary expertise and flexibility. 

A 35 hour work week including 2-4 hours in the evening and weekend games.

Experienced coaches with prior coaching experience is a plus but we also have a training program. Ideally have a clean driving license and a Degree (4 years study) or Associates Degree (2 years of study) in Physical Education, Sports Science or other related qualification is desirable. All coaches need to have a minimum of FA Level 1 coaching certificate or equivalent.

Once your visa is ready, Mill Road pay and book your flight. Usually, you receive your flight information 7-10 days before your departure.  Then your amazing US coaching journey begins!

All candidates working in the USA will be issued either a J-1 visa or an H-2B visa. Mill Road will be responsible for acquiring and paying for the visa. The H-2B visa will allow you to work for Mill Road for a period of up to 9 months and a J-1 visa allows you to work for 18 months. You will have to travel to London to the US Embassy to obtain your visa (this expense is covered by you).

Coaches are paid based on experience, type of job, and agreement with club. Please contact us for further information on salaries. 

Coaches are paid bi-monthly. Most accommodation is usually with local families; however, we do also have some coaches in rentals. Mill Road will provide rental cars. Each coach will receive a coaching kit from their prospective club, together with a curriculum to help the coach get started. Mill Road also provides a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover each coach for the duration of their stay.
